MATS HAVSTRÖM

Director of Collections and Research,​ Gothenburg Botanical Garden

Mats has a PhD in Ecology and a background that also encompasses management and education. His research interests are in plant ecology and the effects of climate change on biodiversity, and he is a skilled field biologist. He is currently Director of Collections and Research at Gothenburg Botanical Garden, where he oversees the extensive living collections along with research and conservation projects.

Role at ARAÇÁ: Mats brings his expertise in ex situ collections and is hoping to establish a nursery of Atlantic Forest plant species on site at Bacchus and eventually an ex situ  collection in one of the Gothenburg Botanical Gardens glasshouses.
