

RHIAN SMITH
Research Coordinator and Strategic Advisor
Rhian holds a BSc in Ecology and Environmental Management, a PhD in plant conservation genetics, and is an experienced field biologist. She is specialized in plant conservation genetics and the evolution of the family Haemodoraceae, as well as science management, communication and education. She is based at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where she works on the flagship State of the Worlds Plants and Fungi reports, among other things, and coordinates the research programme of Professor Alexandre Antonelli – Director of Science at Kew and co-lead of the ARAÇÁ project.
Role at ARAÇÁ: Rhian is committed to applying her research coordination and scientific editing skills and knowledge to facilitate ARAÇÁ's vision and aims.
